Bruckner has been nominated as the "Best Female Leading Actress" by the Independent Spirit Award. Her birthplace and upbringing was in a household of three brothers and two sisters. Hungarian is her mother tongue that she uses regularly in order to remain proficient. Bruckner was an actress from California in Hollywood being born of Hungarian parents as well as Russian mothers who had divorced. Bruckner's paternal grandmother was German. They came into contact in Hungary. The couple immigrated to the U.S. through an Italian refugee camp. She has two sisters and one brother.
